Calligraphic word reads  ‘maghfira’, which is Arabic for forgiveness.

Full piece included a 3 foot letter scroll of forgiveness to her late father. Displayed in 2011, two weeks after his passing, as part of a curated collection of international unsent letters at Pitzer Galleries. 

From the Divine do we come, and to the Divine do we return. May he rest in peace.
